"Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you."
- Oprah Winfrey
ibex. Pakistan is proud to have employees who not only excel professionally but also live life to the fullest. One such example is Yasir Anwar, our HR Business Analyst at ibex.
He's great at his job. And he's great on the radio too!
Every weekend, when others are recovering from the tiring week, Yasir unwinds by living out his passion of creating airwaves on the Radio Active 96 show, 'Apna Gaana Khud Bajao.'
Yasir has been with ibex. Pakistan for more than a decade. He started his journey as a customer support executive and has grown steadily up the corporate ladder. Today, he plays a key role in the HR department, managing recruitment, training and other HR process operations.
Balancing work, family, and passion is no easy task. Yet Yasir makes time for everything. When asked how he juggles it all, he says:
"Where there is a will, there is a way. It's all about your passion. Radio keeps me energized and on my toes. And yes, I do sacrifice some hangout sessions with friends so my family life doesn't get affected."
But how did Yasir find passion to become a Radio Jockey? Let's read his story.
He had always had a knack for socializing. He loved talking and interacting with people, which naturally drew him towards radio. Then fate happened. One bright summer in 2011.
While driving, he heard an announcement that a radio channel was looking for RJs (short for Radio Jockeys). Encouraged by friends, he decided to give it a shot.
He quickly noted the number, reached out to them (with sweaty palms and nervous breaths) to express his interest. Soon after, he was called in for an audition and luckily, got the opportunity to co-host a show with an experienced RJ.
From that moment on, there was no turning back.
Today, his show is request-based, where listeners call or message in to play their favorite tracks. Yasir also shares updates on sports, entertainment, and showbiz, keeping listeners engaged and informed.
What makes him shine both on-air and at work is still the easy and confident way he communicates and charms the audience. These skills have helped him become a recognizable voice, not just in the radio world but also in his HR career.
As Yasir puts it, it's a win-win situation!
